The Child Rights Watch (CRW) is committed to preventing and responding to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Ethiopia/Somali]. This project aims to provide holistic support to survivors of GBV, raise awareness, and strengthen community-based protection mechanisms. The Finance Officer will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of the GBV project, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and financial regulations.

Job Position – Finance Officer

Required Qualification and Experience
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional Certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management, preferably in NGOs or donor-funded projects.
Experience working with GBV, child protection, or humanitarian projects is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations, donor compliance, and budget management.
Familiarity with accounting software and financial reporting systems.
Contract Type: Fixed Term

Reports to: GBV Program Manager/Project Lead
Duration: 9 months (April 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025)
Starting Date: April 1, 2025

Purpose of the Assignment
The Finance Officer will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of the GBV project, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and financial regulations. The role includes budget management, financial reporting, fund disbursement, and supporting audits to ensure transparency and accountability in project expenditures

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Budgeting
Prepare, monitor, and manage the GBV project budget in collaboration with the program team.
Ensure that expenditures align with approved budgets and donor requirements.
Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support project planning and decision-making.
Assist in the development of budget proposals for new funding opportunities.

Accounting & Compliance
Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.
Process payments, ensuring timely disbursement of funds to staff, partners, and service providers.
Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies, donor regulations, and local financial laws.
Support internal and external audits by providing required financial documentation.

Financial Reporting
Prepare and submit periodic financial reports to management and donors as required.
Reconcile financial records, including bank statements, invoices, and expense reports.
Ensure timely submission of financial reports in accordance with donor and organizational guidelines.

Cash Flow & Fund Management
Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient funds are available for project activities.
Support procurement processes by ensuring financial procedures are followed.
Review and verify financial documents before approval and payment processing.

Capacity Building & Support
Provide financial training and guidance to project staff and implementing partners on financial procedures.
Work closely with program teams to ensure proper financial planning and documentation.
Support the development and implementation of financial controls and risk mitigation measures.
