Job Position 1 – Protection Officer – Legal

Required Qualification and Experience
Education: University degree in Law/ LL. B
Minimum 2 years work experience in the legal sector, preferably in a humanitarian context;
Prior Experience working with persons of concern including refugees, internally displaced and/ or returnees

Duties and Responsibilities
Develop a work plan for the implementation of activities focusing on Legal service provision within the framework of the project;
Carry out activities focusing on legal support according to work plan and allocated budget in accordance with international and national laws and regulations;
Conduct rapid assessment to identify the protection risks, legal service needs and concern of the target population and frame response according to the identified need.
Conduct individual /group information dissemination on the legal rights and procedures with a focus on issues affecting the target population through the mobile protection desk and community outreach.
Provide guidance to the mobile protection desks on framing key legal information to be shared through the desk.
Provide legal counselling and legal assistance to the target community through the mobile protection desk.
Develop and disseminate IEC materials with key messages on legal rights and procedures and available legal and protection services to the target population.
Facilitate and advocate access to legal documentation for the target community in collaboration with relevant government authorities and humanitarian agencies.
Facilitate access to Legal aid service in partnership with universities/legal aid providers to individuals needing legal representation.
Implement standardized legal case management procedure.
Organize capacity building training to government stakeholders and community-based structures on relevant international refugee laws and national laws and procedures.
Engage with DRC finance, administration, and supply chain team as needed to facilitate implementation of project activity;
Perform other relevant duties, as needed or requested by supervisor.

Job Position 2 – Protection Assistant – Legal

Required Qualification and Experience
Education: University degree in social work, social science, law or other relevant field from a recognized institution.
Excellent Knowledge of federal and regional laws
Minimum of 1-year experience in humanitarian protection or law enforcement offices
Location: Dolla Ado

Duties and Responsibility
Provide one-on-one legal counselling and assistance to refugees and other conflict-affected populations to help them claim their legal rights from responsible authorities.
Facilitate access to information on legal issues for refugees and other conflict-affected populations, including support with restoring civil documentation, identification documents, and other pertinent paperwork crucial for protecting their rights and achieving lasting solutions.
Organize and conduct awareness-raising sessions on recent legal developments, addressing the information and legal requirements of refugees and others affected by conflict.
Assist the protection legal officer in conducting legal and protection assessments using DRC assessment tools.
Facilitate and monitor incoming and outgoing protection referral cases.
Provide administrative and paralegal assistance to help IDPs and other conflict-affected populations access government and non-governmental services.
Support the organization of public events such as meetings, roundtables, and technical working groups, and participate in these events on behalf of DRC.
Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Protection officer or managers

Job Position 3 – Peace Building Assistant

Required Qualification and Experience
Education: BSc degree or Diploma in Peace Studies, Conflict Management, Social Studies or related fields.
At least one year of professional experience in a similar position.
Location: Dolla Ado

Duties and Responsibility
Assist the Peacebuilding/Protection Officer in implementing peacebuilding project activities at the community level.
Support in organizing workshops, dialogue forums, and training sessions for peace committees and community stakeholders.
Contribute to participatory conflict and conflict sensitivity analyses through community consultations.
Maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders, local authorities, and other partners.
Provide logistical and administrative support for project activities, including organizing meetings and preparing materials.
Assist in the establishment and capacity-building of peacebuilding committees, including women and youth, IDPs/returnees/host community representatives.
Ensure proper filing and record-keeping of all project-related documents.
Ensuring smooth coordination with authorities, security providers, and other organizations to avoid duplication of activities.
Monitoring, reporting, and evaluating project implementation, including data collection, maintaining monitoring forms and submitting reports.
Any other related duties as /when assigned by supervisor.
Assist the Team Leader in training all guards and cleaners on policies and procedures and what to do in an emergency, and other relevant fields
Assist The Finance and Admin Team leader in making sure all staff members are trained on HR policies and procedures, Code of Conduct, First Aid and other trainings as part of DRC mandatory trainings package at least once a year.
Deal with all administrative aspects of the general office and housing, including necessary repairs & maintenance are complete in a timely manner, in coordination with the Compound Technician /Assistant.
Create and maintain all relevant administrative documents files.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
